BIRTHDAYS

Today is professional eating day. I had a splendid lunch in an Italian trattoria in Berkel en Rodenrijs near Zoetermeer. It was very Italian indeed. We had antipasti: salame and olives. After that we had primo piatto. That was ravioli with cream and parmigiano.

We had prosecco for starters, then white wine, then red wine with the main course: meat. It was rabbit, parelhoen (guinea fowl) and pig roast. There was salad off course and even the desert was delicious; tiramisu and some cheese with grapes.

I do not normally eat so much in the afternoon. This was exceptional. My grandmother celebrated her 81th birthday. It is so good to see she is still enjoying her life.

Last week was the first birthday of AUC. I did not know it was a party so I was not dresssed in gala. I was veru surprised and delighted to find out I was among the students elected as student of the year.
